I have been running a bike repair business from home since April 2010. My experience with bike mechanicing ( is that a real word..?) stretches back for about 30 years ,when I started tinkering on my bike as a child. Bicycles and working on them is a particular passion of mine. A bicycle seems to have a simpicity and elegance, together with a brilliant design that hasn't really changed significantly over the past 100 years, and quite simply I love working on them.
I am happy to undertake virtually any bike repairs, from simple brake and gears servicing, to whole bike rebuilds. My experience as the Windmill Hill Bike Doctor has included working on mountain bikes, touring bikes, children's bikes racing bikes, folding bikes, hybrids, a tandem, an electric bike, a wheelbarrow ( twas a right b**ger!) and 1 pushchair!!!

I had been putting off getting my 12 year old mountain bike serviced for months.I knew there was stuff wrong with it but it got me around town. I am so glad I did. Richard talked me through what needed fixing as well as some other recomended tweeking. I picked it up the next day and it feels like a new bike. It really is an absolute pleasure to ride. Hi Rich,
Just wanted to say many thanks again for your help with the tension on my rear cable.
I shall be contacting you for a service after I have completed my next long-distance ride in August.
I have passed your info on to my friends with the highest recommendations.
Speak to you soon.

Tom and Alasdair cycled from John O'Groats to Lands End- in an amazing 8 days! An awesome ride, -well done you two! (and they were raising money for Tom's dad's charity!)( Hey about that- two possessive apostrophes next to each other!) I was delighted to be able to fix Tom's front derailleur , as they stopped overnight in Bristol.
